I've been wanting elders and deacons to weigh in on this question: What do you wish you had known when you were first installed in office?
Our church leaders are wanting to listen better to the needs of our people in the church community specifically focusing on spiritual growth.
Has anyone had discussions about Dr. Wane Dyer’s material? Is there an element of truth with a lot of wrong understanding? Or is the whole thing ‘out ta lunch’?
In our 70+ year old church we are engaged in a bit of research into the differing and dominant theological streams of thought within the CRC. Our pastor, Tom Kok, stated that there is a pamphlet that outlines the three major streams and I'm trying to locate it.
Within our history there is a countering truth, that membership is the responsibility of the individual, and they should be encouraged to take an active role in the process. What do you think? Are our current practices adequate?
