What is your picture policy for pictures on Facebook (and other websites)?

Our church is beginning to use Facebook more regularly, and it is clear that pictures are what members of the congregation find to be of the most interest. It is apparent, though, that our church needs to adopt a policy regarding pictures. So we are looking for more input - especially from Michigan churches (as laws tend to vary from state to state). 1. Does your church have a picture policy or waiver form that you would be willing to share? We are particularly interested in figuring out what our policy should be regarding posting pictures of minors on Facebook. 2. How have churches...

What is a good online tool to use for our annual time & talent questionnaire?

Our church has recently begun using online sign ups via email for various needs. www.signupgenius.com We have had great success with this. We are realizing that people are willing to commit to things when then have a calendar in front of them at home. We are in the process of gathing our information for our annual time and talent questionnaire We believe that we will get more responses if we make this time & talent survey available online for people to fill out. I've heard of www.surveymonkey.com , but I'm not sure if this is the right thing for us. Has anyone used this type of thing...

How do we set up an electronic calendar that reminds us of significant dates in the lives of widows/widowers?

We would like to schedule visits to coincide with a widow's or widower's wedding anniversary or anniversary of the date of their spouse's death. We would like to enter the data into a calendar once and then have the calendar update itself every year. Further, we would like to have the ability to mark the calendar after visits are completed--both when and by whom. Our church records are on ACS. Unless we are missing something, we cannot use our current software according to the above preferences. Sincerely, Bryce Mensink, Associate Pastor Palos Heights, IL Christian Reformed Church

What's a good internet-based method for church backups?

I missed World Backup Day by a bit, but it's always a good day to talk about backups. I'm looking to setup backups for two very different churches: one is a traditional, small town church and the other is a very budget-conscience inner city church. Any backup solution needs to be drop-dead simple, both for the end users and the admin. Clearly free or cheap is also a must for the inner city church. I'm still wading through options like Mozy, Crashplan, Dropbox, etc. I was wondering if anyone else had practical experience with putting an internet-based solution (as opposed to tape backups) into...

Were can I find guidelines and procedures for streaming worship services?

There is a fair amount of material on the web for streaming a worship service. Besides doing a podcast for those who want to listen anytime, we have set a goal for ourselves to be able to audio stream, and possibly video stream the service. I would appreciate some suggestions, guidelines, and/or a procedure on how to set this up. D. Klein http://www.sussexcrc.org/
