As a Christian, I find the seasons of the church year to be a helpful way to remind myself to cycle through the story of scripture. As a pastor, I've been using the Narrative Lectionary to help guide my church through this process as well. If you haven't heard of it before, it's a schedule of readings which goes through scripture in narrative order from beginning to end each year with the focus on one of the four gospels.

Every fall marks the restarting of the lectionary and a season (from September - November) where the Old Testament is the focus of the preaching. While this falls under "ordinary time" I wanted to know if anyone has any experience or resources for a season in the church calendar focused on God's work through the Old Testament. I don't know exactly what I'm looking for but I'm thinking books, worship guides, colour suggestions, readings, etc. Anything to build this move through the Old Testament into the rhythm of the church calendar.

Hi Ben:

I work with www.preachingandworship.org (pw) and we have some good NL resources that might get you started. We have most of this cataloged at pw, but this might also be a place to start - https://www.workingpreacher.org/home-narrative-lectionary
