Worship Training Opportunities in May

Calling all worship planners, worship leaders, worship pastors! Worship Ministries is planning three excellent training opportunities in May. You don't have to travel and you don't have to pay anything! All you have to do is sign up and then connect to the training and conversation on your computer. We'll be using the ZOOM video conferencing technology.

Three experienced and respected leaders in their field will be leading. There will be a 20-25 minute teaching and then time to interact with the leader in a Q&A session. These sessions will be approximately one hour in length. Note that the times listed are EDT (please convert to your own time zone).

The three sessions are:

  • May 10, 2pm - Work and Worship with Cory Willson. Many have sought to bridge the gap between Sunday worship and Monday work by showing how Christian liturgy and theology affect how we approach our weekday work. But our weekday work also affects how we inhabit Sunday worship in profound ways, and those who lead and craft liturgies do well to be attentive to this reality.
  • May 16, 2pm - Training Youth for Worship Leadership with Eric Mathis. “Worship has the potential to be the most important training ground for young people to hear and tell the story of God working in the world,” Mathis says. “Worship has the potential to form their identities as God’s image bearers who matter in God’s kingdom and have a place in Christ’s body just as they are."
  • May 18, 7pm - Leading Worship Teams with Greg Scheer. Author of Essential Worship: A Handbook for Leaders, Greg gives practical advice for leading worship teams and growing a strong community of those who are at the heart of the worship ministry in your church.
