When we are called to serve as an elder, we enter a new way of experiencing church. The responsibilities of church leadership and guiding the faith life of individuals and families require new focus and reflection. How do I exercise my leadership function? When does oversight become overbearing? For which key dangers should I be alert? What do I need to learn to better fulfill my calling? In this webinar we'll introduce the basics of how to discern vision and organizational identity, when the church becomes dysfunctional and how to grow our capacity as leaders and nurture our spiritual life.

Presenter:  Neil de Koning is pastor at Woody Nook CRC in Lacombe, AB.  Previously, he's served churches in Calgary and Sarnia.  Convinced that the role of the elder is vital to the spiritual and organizational health of a congregation, he has written a book (Guiding the Faith Journey) and served as the first Guide for the Elder’s Network.
