Bridgewood Church in Savage, MN (near Minneapolis, MN) is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor who will serve at a pastoral level alongside our Senior Pastor, with direct responsibility for Youth and Young Adulty ministry. Title: Associate Pastor                                                                                                                       Accountability: Lead Pastor

Ministry Description: Serves at a pastoral level according to gifting and strengths with necessary preaching, teaching, administration of volunteers, visionary leadership and strong delegation and interpersonal skills. Focus: Youth - Middle School through High School and Young Adults - College age through the 20’s. This is a full-time job which is designed to meet the ministry needs of Bridgewood Church.

Qualifications:

  • Exhibits a personal lifestyle and confession that demonstrates that Jesus is Lord of his/her life.
  • Is an active member of Bridgewood Church or is willing to pursue membership. 
  • Accepts the Bible as God’s infallible word and is biblically literate.
  • Is convinced of Bridgewood Church’s vision DNA written into its Four Core Values and its heart to be a “church of influence.” Bridgewood Church’s values require this position to be filled with male leadership.
  • A clear and effective communicator who is able to articulate a testimony of personal faith.
  • Demonstrates the ability and willingness to work effectively within the organizational structure of Bridgewood Church.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with others, relate to a wide variety of personalities, and is a team player. 
  • Possesses a pastoral heart for people, willing to listen, and show compassion and understanding.
  • Displays a love and ministry passion for youth and young adults and exhibits inward calling for the focus of this ministry.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead and manage people.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to excellence and a willingness to be held accountable for his/her work.
  • Displays moral behavior, demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality, and applies sound judgement. 
  • Has a Master’s Degree of Divinity or a Bachelor’s Degree with an interest in pursuing a higher degree.
  • Preferably has some years of experience working in a church or Christian ministry or has some management and leadership experience in the work world.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work with Lead Pastor to develop a visionary perspective and process concerning Bridgewood Youth and Young Adults and the ministry of Bridgewood Church.
  • Oversee Middle School and High School staff, volunteer staff, and all other volunteers in these ministries. Manage the ministry vision, curriculum, direction, goals, and strategies.
  • Oversee the ministry vision and staff for Young Adults at Bridgewood. Manage the ministry vision, curriculum, direction, goals, and strategies.
  • Collaborate with Bridgewood Adult and Children’s Ministries to provide consistency in vision, goals, strategies, and action points.
  • Mentor and develop empowered disciples and leaders who will seek to work within Bridgewood and advance God’s Kingdom in our community.
  • Preach and teach according to need and giftedness. Provide pastoral care to the focus areas of youth and young adults and as needed within the congregation. 
  • Join in pastoral duties of leadership and engagement where needed.
