HOURS & SCHEDULE

80-100% FTE, including 2-4 hours on Sundays. 50% remote as desired.

COMPENSATION

$40,000-60,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Long- and Short-term Disability, Flexible Spending Account available. Retirement benefits offered after three years of employment.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Director of Operations empowers leaders and volunteers to pursue the mission and vision of Geneva Campus Church. He or she facilitates the integration of ministry activities, serves as the central hub for church communications, and manages the administrative life of the church, including building needs. The Director of Operations is supervised by the Lead Pastor.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Director of Operations supports Geneva Campus Church in the following areas:

1. Ministry Operations: The Director of Operations will have authority and responsibility to make decisions and manage ministry activities, working with ministry teams as necessary, in order to fulfill the church’s mission. (40%)

●  Provide administrative support to the pastors, staff, and Church Council

●  Attend weekly staff meetings and regular 1:1s with Lead Pastor

●  Attend monthly Council meetings as needed

●  Develop and maintain a Council Handbook that collects job descriptions, calendars, policy

decisions, and other key information to make it accessible and available for church leaders

●  Coordinate and schedule volunteers and ministry teams using Planning Center Online

●  Organize and lead Sunday morning operations and set-up staff

●  Facilitate annual church calendar planning

●  Coordinate preparation for congregational meetings

●  Organize and manage other routine administrative functions of the church, including email/voicemail, central church calendar, church directory, assistance to the Treasurer and Finance Team; and other tasks as needed

2. Ministry Communications: The Director of Operations is responsible for communicating the ministry activities of the church in a clear, compelling, and creative way. The Director serves as the central hub for communication between ministry teams, congregation members, volunteers, and church staff. (30%)

 ●  Produce weekly communication to the congregation, including announcements in the Weekly Bulletin and a midweek email newsletter using Mailchimp

●  Create workback schedules for communicating about upcoming events

●  Coordinate announcements for worship services

●  Facilitate communication to volunteers and ministry teams, including emailing reminders to volunteers & leaders, and maintaining worship records

●  Manage and update website

●  Form and implement a social media strategy

●  Maintain membership, alumni and friends database/mailing list in Planning Center Online and Mailchimp

●  Organize and manage Sunday Welcome Table with important information for visitors

●  Initiate communication with visitors who share their information via the welcome card

3. Building Management: The Director of Operations will serve as the primary contact for all building- related needs, establishing procedures for management of church building, and coordinate building use by church members and the community partners. (30%)

●  Be present in church building at least 15-20 hours per week, serving as a caretaker of the space

●  Organize and lead volunteers for regular building work days throughout the year (spring/fall clean-ups) and other special projects

●  Develop and implement clear procedures and policies related to church building

●  Coordinate with Building Team to manage renovations or improvements

●  Manage building maintenance, cleaning, snow removal, etc, in consultation with Building Team

●  Oversee calendar system for building use, including security system and schedule

●  Maintain regular communication with all renters, including billing

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

●  Alignment with vision and mission of Geneva Campus Church

●  Openness to membership at Geneva Campus Church

●  Proven ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal amount of direct supervision

●  Project management skills, including the ability to coordinate a wide variety of volunteers

●  Able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

●  Excellent oral and written communication skills

●  Strong planning and organizational skills

●  Works well with pressure of deadlines

●  Able to evaluate and improve on present systems

●  Prefer experience with Microsoft Office, Canva (or other graphic design software), Planning Center Online, and/or Google Workspace
