Pastor for Cobblestone Reformed Church (RCA) (Rotterdam, NY)

The Second Reformed Church of Rotterdam (Cobblestone Church), 118 Putnam Road, Schenectady, NY 12306, is seeking a full-time pastor to lead and grow with our congregation of approximately 25 parishioners. We have a very caring and helpful church family that is active in our community.

Prior to COVID, we had a small Sunday school and a woman’s Bible study, which we hope to reinstate soon. Our activities have included a community book club, City Mission shoe drives and coat collections, Schenectady Inner City Mission (SICM) summer lunch program, free community soup luncheons, participation in Operation Christmas Child, a mitten tree for Northeast Parent and Child, and our Backdoor Store which supplies used clothing and household goods at a low price or free to those who need them. This mission also offers fellowship and prayer to our guests and is once again operating.

Cobblestone is presently offering our parsonage as temporary housing for a Ukrainian family. The details are still developing, but we see the congregation energized as we investigate this possibility. 

We are seeking a pastor that speaks and preaches from the Bible and is excited to become part of our church family. Our worship services are best described as traditional and include a children's sermon. He or she needs to connect and minister to the young and old and be willing to visit our shut-ins and hospitalized members. We are looking for a pastor with vision and energy to be our next spiritual leader.

The ideal candidate is someone who would bring our church into the future while respecting the traditions and history of the past. Growth of our membership is important to us and we need a pastor who will share that vision.

We are a financially stable church with the resources to support outreach and programs. Pastor’s salary and benefits are commensurate with Schenectady Classis guidelines. A parsonage is available, if desired.
