Anyone who has a heart from prayer and a vision to see God at work in their churches will want to check out the Praying for Renewal in the Christian Reformed Church Facebook page.

Started six years ago, this Facebook page helps connect intercessors from different churches and gives them encouragement in praying for God to bring new life to their ministries. I started this page to help encourage intercessors who felt isolated in praying at their churches and had a passion to see their churches grow. Today more than 2700 people "like" the page and follow the posts. The focus on the "Christian Reformed Church" was never meant to be exclusive but rather to capitalize on the network of CRC churches.

The response for the posts show a widespread of responses from many various denominations. There are a variety of posts on the page include scripture passages, quotes from sermons on revival, historical facts related to revivals, and promotion for upcoming events that should be prayed for.

Each weekend, an invitation is given for those to post their congregation's name if they would like it prayed for. An average of 40 churches are listed each time.

The goal for the page is not related to the number of "followers" or the number of "likes" but rather to the number of people who actually take time to pray for the Holy Spirit to bring renewal to their churches.

I wonder if a name change for the site might be in order? Assuming the Holy Spirit is working by answering the prayers offered over 6 years....could we call the site "Praying for continued renewal in the CRC"?

It would also have the benefit of leaving a more positive than negative impression....
