The purpose of the Equipping Children & Families Director is to equip children and families to live missionally through discipleship, community, leadership development, outreach, and worship.

Responsibilities 

a. Continue to build and lead the Children and Youth Team a. Lead meetings with the team. 

b. Communicate in writing with the Council regarding general updates, decisions, recommendations, and requests. Teams/Committees are encouraged to share where they’ve seen God at work and request prayer, guidance, and/or approval as needed. 

c. Equip, empower, and encourage the team to serve and lead. 

d. Oversee all Children and Youth programs and volunteers, reviewing the effectiveness, and improving or revamping the ministry to reach clear goals. Current programs include… Kings Corner (Sunday School), Family Games Nights, Sports Days (Summer), Lunch in the Park (Summer) 

e. Develop strategies to help children and families reach out to neighbors. 

f. Work with area churches to increase kingdom impact and build unity. 

g. Preview and recommend all curriculum to the Kings Corner Team for 

  • Sunday School (PreK/K, Gr1-9) 
  • Recruit and support teachers, substitute teachers, and assistants. 
  • Develop student leaders, seeking to invest in, mobilize and empower students to lead. 
  • Purchase materials for these ministries.  
  • Participate in staff meetings, team leader meetings and Personnel Team reviews. 
  • Willingness to assist in other ministry areas as needed and assigned by the Lead Pastor

h. Facilitate outreach to families young and old within and on the fringe of the church. 

  •  Care for youth, families, and team members. 
  • Engage students on their ground by attending sporting events and other extracurricular activities. 
  • Encourage and support them with periodic check-ins. 

i. Equip Youth

  • Engage, disciple and mentor our middle and high school students. 
  • Outreach ministries to develop relationships with other Youth Pastors/Directors, both within the CRC and other churches, to encourage greater interaction of students.
