Planting Churches With "Discover Acts"

Resonate missionary Ben Meyer shared with me recently that he has used the Discover Acts studies with teams in Mexico to plant two churches. Ben’s comment caught my attention. My husband and I are also planting a new church— in Cedar Springs, Michigan. Soon after, we started using Discover Acts with our core team.

Ben and Amy live in Guadalajara and work with the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico to plant and strengthen churches and develop servant leaders. Ben asks families in the area of the new church to join the study. The group meets every other week for 18 months for the study of Acts, prayer, singing, snacks, and fellowship.

Group members take turns facilitating as a way of preparing people to lead their own small groups. Ben said, “The study not only helped us form the team around a common vision, but also deepened our understanding of the mission of the Church and the role of the Holy Spirit!”

Perhaps your church would like to dig again into Discover Acts to refresh your passion for God’s mission. The study is available in English, Korean and Spanish.
