Church Renewal/Church Planting Pastor at Valley Church (Binghamton, NY)

Valley Christian Reformed Church of Binghamton, NY, looks forward to discovering the person(s) God is preparing to serve as its next full-time or bi-vocational Pastor who will passionately and boldly lead our congregation in renewal as we seek to grow as disciples of Jesus. We envision a pastor gifted in three areas: outreach, leadership and preaching.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity is a dedicated Christ-follower who has a deep love for Christ and the Church, is mission-focused (reaching the unchurched; has a heart for those far from God; evangelistic); is a biblical, effective preacher; an adaptive leader; has a passion for discipleship; and is an equipper (in the spirit of Ephesians 4:11-12). The candidate also will have or pursue the necessary qualifications to serve as a pastor in the Christian Reformed Church in North America.

In addition, the candidate should have experience as a church planter or in church renewal to lead our congregation through a season of change and growth to accomplish our recently adopted vision Together: Gather - Grow - Serve - Send.

The person God calls to this opportunity will be gifted and equipped to (1) encourage, equip and empower a core group of dedicated members towards the realization of the vision of Valley Church; (2) be active in the community as a representative of the congregation; (3) create and deliver biblical sermons relevant to people of all ages and levels of spiritual maturity; (4) help plan and lead weekly worship gatherings of the church; and (5) assist the elders in shepherding the people of God with love, wisdom and grace.

The church is located in the rolling hills of upstate New York in the Town of Chenango (population 11,000; includes suburban and rural areas), across the street from the Chenango Forks Elementary School, eight miles north of the City of Binghamton, and six miles north of SUNY Broome Community CollegeBinghamton University (enrollment 17,768) is also located in Broome County.
