Director of Music and Worship Arts - Duncan CRC, Vancouver Island, BC

Duncan CRC is a multigenerational church on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We are an established congregation of 160 people serving the Cowichan Valley for over 50 years. We currently employ a full-time pastor as well as an office secretary. Our worship has been directed by volunteer members until this time.

Because we value the time and care that is put into worship, we are now seeking to hire a Director of Music and Worship Arts. This is a part-time paid position to match the breadth of the job with 15 to 20 hours per week on average (i.e. Advent is a busy season but others are slower). Salary is negotiable based on experience. This person is responsible for leading our worship team during Sunday morning services, leading practices and rehearsals when needed, as well as guiding other aspects of worship arts.

Our worship style is a blended style - hymns and contemporary music. We believe in planning for excellence as well as following the leading of the Holy Spirit. You must be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and view this job as a calling from God. The ability to play a lead instrument (piano/guitar) is highly desired. You should be or be willing to become a member of the Duncan CRC affirming the mission and vision of the CRC church.

A detailed job description is attached below.

To apply, please send your resume along with two or more of the following:

  • a video of you leading a worship service
  • the outline of a service you have recently put together
  • the outline of a service you would put together for a multi-generational blended style of worship
  • a list of your 5 favourite worship songs

Please email your resume and information to [email protected].
