The Healthy Church Discernment Process: A Journey to Congregational Vitality

The Healthy Church Discernment Process (HCDP) offers congregations robust conversations about their purpose and vitality. With the help of qualified coaches it leads them to listen to God's voice through a program of congregational discernment. HCDP also provides a platform for expressing and listening to the congregation's own voice, using a survey whose data is processed by the Calvin University Social Research Center.
HCDP came out of insights from denominational staff people and members who studied scripture and were shaped by the Reformed perspective on the church. It is both simple and comprehensive—revolving around a set of eleven healthy church indicators that point to a comprehensive picture of the church. HCDP is a ministry of Pastor Church Resources, an agency of the Christian Reformed Church.
