"I Feel Right at Home at My Church"

Lucas, who has cerebral palsy, cannot walk, nor can he articulate words so that others can understand. He uses a computer to communicate. Lucas' involvement in a small Pentecostal African American Church in the Mississippi Delta has been chronicled in a photographic essay by a novelist, T.R. Pearson, and a photographer, Langdon Clay, called Year of Our Lord: Faith, Hope and Harmony in the Mississippi Delta. His congregation embraces him for who he is and encourages him to use the gifts God has given him. Click on the link to Lucas' story from CNN's website.
