Seeking Stories: Why Disability Advocacy is Important

Disability Concerns is looking for personal stories to use for our 2019 bulletin inserts to help show people how disability advocacy is essential in our communities.

Are you a disability advocate who has made a positive impact for the community, for an individual and whose faith has been impacted?  Are you a person with a disability who has found belonging in community with the support of an advocate? We want to hear your story! Email [email protected] by January 1, 2019.

Some starters that you might identify with / be willing to share:

  • Our advocate made sure our son could fully participate in Sunday School...
  • Through my role, I got to know __________ and they have impacted my faith because __________
  • I knew I belonged in this community when...
  • Many others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Send a note to Miriam at [email protected] by January 1, 2019.  She will be in touch if and when/where you're story will be shared!

Many thanks!
