About

First Byron CRC is an evangelical church that fits within the Reformed tradition.  Our identity is a Reformed Church.  This means that while we broadly share with the evangelical world a sold-out belief in such things as the inspiration of Scripture, the atoning death of Christ, his resurrection and second coming, and the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit, our distinctive emphasis in doctrine and belief are on such things as the sovereignty of God and salvation by God's grace alone.  Our understanding of Scripture is shaped by our confessions - Heidelberg Catechism, Cannons of Dort, and the Belgic Confession.

As a Reformed congregation, we stand on the five great doctrines of the Reformation - Scripture Alone, Christ Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and Glory to God Alone.

Key Convictions - Glorify God, be Word Centered, be Prayer Powered, Grow disciples, Serve Others, and Reach the World.

The best way to understand our views is to read our Elders Covenant - which is on our website. Firstbyroncrc.org or available on request
