PURPOSE:
Develop relationships and implement a strategy with existing and potential donors that will increase financial support and resources. Engage current constituents and cultivate potential donors in support of the ministry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Develop stewardship-focused relationships with a portfolio of individuals, churches, and foundations to engage support for the ministry.
- Develop and implement donor strategy for assigned areas, and collaborate with colleagues on implementing fundraising strategies.
- Strengthen and expand the financial support, including major gifts, from assigned individuals, churches, and foundations.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with donors so planned giving commitments to the agency increase annually.
- Represent the agency at churches, classis meetings, and other events, as needed.
- Significant travel within assigned regions for in-person visits, relationship building, donor appreciation, and fundraising events.
- Maintain accurate records in appropriate database(s) (e.g., constituent interactions) which support the development of donor relationships.
- Assist with planning strategy, goals, and fundraising targets.
- Track expenses and maintain regular expense reports.
- Assist with prospect research and/or proposal writing, as assigned.
- Work with colleagues to develop support networks in their assigned area.
- Invite constituents to join in praying regularly for the ministry.
- Stay current with the best practices of professional fundraising.
- Assist the Director in providing training for other individuals as deputized fundraisers.
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to support the mission, vision, and values of the CRCNA
- Demonstrated ability to encourage and inspire individuals to support ministry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to be self-motivated and work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and external contacts.
- Proven ability to plan and organize tasks and responsibilities, in fast paced enviroment.
- Able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated capacity to uphold confidentiality.
- Advanced proficiency in commonly used computer applications, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as marketing, communications, or non-profit management, is required or equivalent work experience.
- Basic experience in donor relations or advancement, with a proven track record in fundraising, is required.

- Hybrid work schedule coming into the denomination office located in Burlington, Ontario, as needed.
- Frequent video calls/meetings are required
- Regular travel within Canada and the United States, including occasional weekends and evenings as needed.
- Occasional international travel to destinations with rough terrain may be requested.
