Hope Christian Reformed Church is a growing congregation located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, on the north shore of Lake Superior. As part of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, we are rooted in the historic Reformed tradition and committed to the authority of Scripture, the lordship of Jesus Christ, and the mission of making disciples.
At Hope Church, we describe ourselves as "a Jesus centred community that seeks to provide a place of belonging for all that especially invests in the young." This statement shapes everything we do. We desire to be a church where people of all ages can encounter Jesus, experience authentic community, and grow as disciples. We are especially passionate about investing in children, youth, young adults, and young families, believing that the next generation is not simply the future of the church but an essential part of the church today.
Our mission is to be a passionate and excited group of believers growing in Christ, loving, caring, and sharing with one another. Our vision is to be a family of believers united in showing grace, teaching our youth and new members, engaging in joyful worship, and walking together in faith. We strive to be a church where people feel loved, welcomed, and encouraged to use their God-given gifts in service to Christ and His kingdom.
Sunday worship at Hope combines biblical preaching, congregational worship, prayer, and opportunities for fellowship. We seek to create a welcoming environment for both long-time Christians and those who may be exploring faith for the first time. Alongside our worship services, we offer ministries for children, youth, adults, and seniors, as well as opportunities for discipleship, service, and community outreach.
Thunder Bay is a regional hub for Northwestern Ontario, serving a diverse population while maintaining a strong sense of community. Surrounded by forests, lakes, and outdoor recreation opportunities, it offers an exceptional quality of life for individuals and families. Hope Church seeks to be an active and positive presence within the city, sharing the hope of Jesus through relationships, service, and community engagement.
As we look to the future, we are excited about what God is doing in and through our congregation. We believe God is calling us to continue creating spaces of belonging, growing deeper in discipleship, and investing intentionally in the next generation. We are seeking leaders who share that vision and are eager to help us build a vibrant, Christ-centred ministry for years to come.
