Full-Time Head Pastor at Ellensburg Presbyterian Church (Ellensburg, WA)

Ellensburg Presbyterian Church desires a Head Pastor who loves the Lord and loves people, is rooted in scripture, is an enthusiastic leader and whose theological views are consistent with the Essential Tenants of ECO: https://eco-pres.org 

Responsibilities

Pastor:

• Preach engaging Biblically grounded sermons that inform, inspire, and challenge as led by the Holy Spirit

• Head of Staff: administrate, oversee and support full and part-time paid staff

• Moderate Session and congregational meetings

• Promote, lead, and teach new member classes

• Administer sacraments and officiate weddings and funerals

Shepherd:

• Know members of our congregation and encourage them in their walk with Christ

• Disciple elders, deacons and lay leaders through leadership, teaching and prayer

• Work closely with worship teams to provide inspiring worship services

• Provide vision and guidance for Christian education programs, including children, youth and adult

• Be present and available in times of need, such as counseling members and visiting those who are grieving or sick and shut-in

• Schedule time to nurture your intellectual and spiritual growth and maintain emotional balance

Reach Out:

• Look out into our community and the world to see where Ellensburg Presbyterian Church may be able to bring the love of Christ

• Participate in Kittitas Valley Ministerial Association and NW ECO Presbytery

• Work with leadership to determine a vision for the future of our church

• Has a servant’s heart for others and winning souls for Jesus Christ

• A person of prayer

• Seeks to honor Christ in all relationships and maintains a lifestyle which is consistent with scripture and the Essential Tenets of ECO

• Committed to a life that upholds and encourages biblical standards

• Approachable, handles both criticism and praise with grace

• An effective communicator who listens well and is skilled in conflict resolution



Skills and Experience:

• Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited seminary

• Ordained and committed to the ECO Essential Tenants and Confessional Standards

• Four years or more as Head Pastor (preferred) or Associate Pastor

• Experience in supervising, supporting and managing staff

Compensation:

Minimum $75,000 plus benefit package, negotiable based on experience.
