Hawarden Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden IA is seeking a Pastor to guide us as we seek to carry out the mission of Hawarden CRC, which is to gather, listen, and respond to God; nurture each other in faith and obedience to Christ; love and care for one another; commit to serve and tell others about Jesus; and pursue God's justice and peace in every area of life.
The Pastor's primary responsibilities will be pastoral leadership, training, preaching and worship, and pastoral care. He must be ordained or willing to become ordained as a Minister of the Word or Commissioned Pastor in the Christian Reformed Church.
The city of Hawarden is a rural community with approximately 2800 residents located in northwest Iowa equidistant between Sioux City, IA and Sioux Falls, SD. Christian education is readily accessible from elementary through high school. There is also a local public school. Dordt University is located within a half-hour drive. Other Christian Colleges are located within easy driving distance, providing sports, drama, and musical events. Other recreational activities are available in the area including hiking, fishing, hunting, and kayaking. The city also has a hospital and two medical clinics wirh others nearby.
