The congregation is composed of mainly mature believers, many of which have been a part of our congregation for more than 10 years. Our desire is to reach more young families.

The congregation is seeking to:

  • Improve assimilation of all visitors, with special attention to young families.
  • Improve the family church-life experience and increase engagement in worship, Sunday school, youth group, and various church ministries.
  • Expand ministry both in the church and beyond the church building.

Seeking a Senior Pastor with the following characteristics:

  • Demonstrate Christian lifestyle through both word and deed.
  • Biblical preacher, steadfast to the Word 
  • Approachable with heart of a teacher 
  • Committed to the reformed tradition
  • Meets the characteristics as described in Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Tim 3:1-7.

Gifts and Skills

  • Ability to effectively preach and teach the Word of God
  • Inspire lay leaders within our congregation
  • Ability to coordinate and delegate office and church activities.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide solid, biblically-base, reformed ministry of preaching and teaching.
  • Enhance, in concert with Session, the vision for the church and clearly communicate that vision to staff, leadership and laity.
  • Encourage and nurture the understanding and application of Reformed theology.
  • Help the Assimilation Committee with engaging new members in the church.
  • Oversee the direction of an active Christian education program, Sunday school, Bible studies.
  • Encourage small group development
  • Provide spiritual direction to the church and community (i.e. officiate weddings, funerals, memorial, providing pastoral care to members in crises or acute care)

Community Church of Ephrata (CCE), in Ephrata, Washington, is seeking a full-time Pastor to lead and shepherd a congregation with a strong commitment to biblical teaching, spiritual unity, and consistently maturing in the Christian faith. The congregation has a strong desire to disciple its church family while expanding its ministry in the Ephrata Community.

Church Description

CCE was formed in 2005 after a group of faithful believers split from the PC(USA) and joined the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).  The church built a new building, completed in 2012, and has faithfully served the people of Ephrata. CCE is a loving congregation that readily demonstrate love for the pastor and his family. We have a spirit of unity and care deeply about each other and are quick to minister to those that are hurting. Ephrata is a small rural town in Eastern Washington State known as the gateway to area recreation, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and more.
