Position Overview:
First Christian Reformed Church (CRC) of Sioux Falls is seeking a dedicated and spiritually mature individual to serve as our Youth Pastor. This role will involve leading, discipling, and nurturing the spiritual growth of middle school, high school students, and college and career young adults in alignment with the mission and values of our church. The ideal candidate will cultivate a Christ-centered, relational, and dynamic youth ministry that fosters connection to the church and inspires lifelong faith.

Responsibilities:
Youth Ministry Leadership:
• Plan, organize, and lead weekly youth group meetings, Bible studies, and other discipleship opportunities.
• Develop a balanced program of spiritual, relational, and missional activities that engage youth in their faith journey.
• Actively build personal relationships with youth and their families to encourage spiritual growth and connection.
Event Coordination & Relationship Building:
• Organize retreats, mission trips, and service opportunities that reinforce biblical principles and encourage community engagement.
• Plan social events and fun activities—such as game nights, movie outings, sports events, or outdoor adventures—that create a welcoming and engaging environment for students.
• Foster a strong sense of community by providing spaces for youth to build meaningful friendships and feel connected to the church beyond structured faith-based activities.
• Work with church leadership to ensure youth involvement in events like Sioux Falls Serve and other church-wide initiatives.
Mentorship and Discipleship:
• Recruit, train, and equip adult volunteers to mentor and support youth.
• Create an environment where students feel safe to explore their faith and ask questions.
• Encourage student leadership within the ministry.
• Personal mentorship connections with (Middle & High School) students should happen at least 1x a year.
Administrative Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with church staff, elders, and committees to ensure alignment with the broader church mission.
• Maintain communication with parents, keeping them informed about youth activities and ministry goals.
• Oversee the youth ministry budget and ensure proper stewardship of resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a life of integrity, humility, and service.
• A strong alignment with the beliefs and values of First Christian Reformed Church.
• A passion for working with youth and the ability to build meaningful relationships with them.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• A bachelors degree, and working toward a degree in theology, ministry, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with youth in a ministry context.
• A degree in theology, ministry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Musical skills (while not required, they are a plus for worship involvement).
• Experience planning events, retreats, or mission trips.
Hours and Compensation:
• This is a full-time position, but with flexibile hours.
• Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications ($19-$24 / hr), with health benefits and 3% match for retirement.
