Interim Pastor at Vanastra Community CRC (Vanastra, ON)

Vanastra Community CRC in Vanastra, Ontario is seeking an Interim Pastor for a 6-12 month contract. It is our hope that this position can provide a time of transition for both us as a church, and for the candidate as they discern where God is calling them. We are looking for help to cover some of the regular tasks of ministry as we search for our next pastor. We also expect that this could be an opportunity for learning some of the rhythms of ministry as the candidate awaits a formal call to ministry.

Interim Pastor Job Description:

The successful candidate will be required to:

1. Prepare a service and preach for 4 out of every 5 Sundays.
2. Attend worship committee meetings and prepare services in coordination with this committee.
3. Attend Council, Elder and Executive meetings.
4. Visit the sick and hospitalized (alongside Elder, as needed).
5. Visit congregation members for life transitions, i.e. births and deaths, etc.
6. Meet and engage with members of the congregation through home visits.
7. Teach catechism and other classes, as needed.
