Members of Ridgewood CRC in Jenison, MI are seeking a full-time lead pastor who is enthusiastic, has a deep knowledge of the Bible, has a passion for preaching God’s Word, and teaching messages with life applications. We desire a pastor with spiritual discernment for directing and challenging members to cultivate a close relationship with God. This position requires an individual with solid leadership, administrative, and communication skills.
The ideal candidate shall:
Demonstrate spiritual maturity and ongoing personal relationship with Christ.
Be dedicated to personal study and application of the Scriptures. A follower of Christ in everyday living with a clear call to pastoral ministry in the local church. Balanced in ministry, family, and personal life.
Be a skilled Christ-centered teacher/preacher. An engaging vision caster. A leadership style characterized by collaboration, service, and approachability. Self-motivated, self-starter is willing to serve alongside the members of the congregation.
Have experience in leading both self and a congregation in the process of spiritual formation into Christ-likeness and service. Understands the role and implementation of spiritual disciplines in the life of the disciple. Be able to formulate and implement spiritual formation plans for both individuals and the church.
Lead the missional formation of the congregation. Passionate about missional engagement in our local community. Experience in mentoring and mobilizing people into missional living in their everyday lives. Willing to collaborate with other churches and organizations within our community.
Possess a passion for inspirational and engaging multi-generational worship and will seek to add elements of worship that will be attractive to those we are called to seek and keep a fresh sense of awe of God before us all.
A proven track record of servant leadership within a local church organization. Ability to recruit, train, develop and deploy volunteer leaders from within the congregation. Experience in managing staff and administration of organizational concerns. Able to adapt organizational structures to the evolving need of the mission. Collaborate well with the Council and staff to develop a strategic plan for the church.
Prepared to approach the demands of a post-COVID world with creativity and positivity. Willingness to embrace the emerging digital aspect of church ministry. Vision for re-engaging members estranged by the pandemic.
