Opportunity:  Interim Worship Director position at Connections Church, located in Highlands Ranch, CO (Denver area).  Connections Church is a member of the Christian Reformed Church denomination.

Job Title:  Interim Worship Director

  • Position is for 9 – 15 months, starting April 2024, with the potential of continuing in this position
  • Sunday mornings at the church, flexible schedule and remote work environment during the week.
  • Salary: depending on qualifications, time commitment. Approximately 10 -15 hours/week.  Range: $22-$26/hour.
  • Reports to:  Pastor

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the pastor to select worship songs that complement the sermon and overall theme of the service
  • Curate a diverse and spiritually enriching selection of worship songs, along with some hymns
  • Lead the congregation in singing and actively participate in selected portions of the worship service
  • Lead and develop a worship team, including musicians, vocalists, and other participants.
  • Ensure the music selections fit with the Reformed theological perspective and goals of the Church Council.
  • This position could include the selection and integration of appropriate liturgies, prayers, and responsive readings into the worship service

Skills required include:

  • Proficient in playing at least one musical instrument (piano or guitar preferred)
  • Proficient in singing and has a passion for leading a group in song and worship
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • A personal commitment to the Christian faith

Education/Experience:

  • Obtaining or completed degree in music, preferably with some course work or experiences in Christian music
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Familiarity with planning and executing worship services
