Part-Time Worship Director at Vriesland Church (Zeeland, MI)

The Worship Director is responsible for planning and leading the corporate worship gatherings of the church, with a particular focus on the liturgical and musical aspects of worship.

Qualifications

• Has a sincere commitment to and love for Christ and His Church
• Affirms and is in alignment with the creeds and confessions affirmed by the Alliance of Reformed Churches. 
• Proficient musician with the ability to organize, coordinate, and lead a team of musicians in a corporate worship setting.
• Is, or is willing to become, a ministry partner (member) of Vriesland Church.
• Demonstrated experience and/or training in worship leadership, music, and team coordination is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the worship leader for weekend gatherings.
• Plan and prepare the weekly worship service and special services with the support from the Lead Pastor and Worship Committee. 
• Ensure musicians have the tools they need to contribute effectively to each weekend worship service, including schedules, well-organized service plans, efficient rehearsal times, and clear musical and vocal direction.
• Serve on Vriesland’s Worship Committee.
• Oversees the maintenance and care of the audio/video equipment and musical instruments in partnership with the tech director. 
• Ensure Vriesland Church adheres to all applicable copyright laws and licensing regulations concerning the use of music.

Location

This position is primarily in-office, though some flexibility is available. Regular in-person responsibilities include, but are not limited to, one evening rehearsal during the week, Sunday morning rehearsals, and Sunday worship gathering.

Reporting

The Worship Director will report to the Lead Pastor.

Compensation

Compensation will be hourly, with additional allowances for certain approved expenses and professional development. This is a part-time, at-will position. The position does not include benefits such as retirement or health insurance. Vacation and sick pay are calculated based on hours worked per week.

Hourly compensation will be commensurate with the individual’s skill set and level of experience.
