CrossWay Church is seeking a part-time Youth Director with a passion for discipling junior high and high school students. This individual will lead and develop a Christ-centered youth ministry that encourages spiritual growth, relational connection, and active participation in church life.

CrossWay Church:

CrossWay Church is a smaller Christian Reformed church committed to biblical teaching and authentic relationships. We value intergenerational ministry and servant leadership. Our church family desires to create a nurturing, supportive, and grace‑filled environment that leads to more devoted followers of Jesus.

Responsibilities:

  • This position averages approximately 16 hours per week, with hours varying seasonally and around events. 
  • Provide primary leadership for the planning, teaching, promotion, and implementation of junior high (Grades 5–8) and senior high (Grades 9–12) ministry activities (e.g., regular gatherings, retreats, and service projects). Our combined group currently meets on Sunday evenings, but we are open to adjusting this structure as needed.
  • Build intentional relationships with students and their families and encourage their involvement in the broader life of the church. 
  • Foster a healthy team-oriented ministry environment by recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in collaboration with the Elders. 
  • Additional ministry responsibilities may be added based on scheduling and individual skill set (e.g., monthly worship leading, filling in as a Jr. Church teacher when needed)
  • Partner with the Senior Pastor to cast and carry out the vision, mission, values, and direction of the youth ministry at CrossWay Church. 
  • Maintain accountability to the Senior Pastor and the Elders through regular meetings with the Senior Pastor and periodic reports to the Elders.

  • Demonstrates a lifestyle consistent in word and action with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • A genuine passion for guiding students toward spiritual maturity and a vibrant, growing relationship with Christ.
  • Teachable spirit with a desire to grow in biblical knowledge, faith, and ministry leadership skills.
  • Strong relational and communication and teaching skills, with the ability to connect meaningfully with youth and families.
  • Alignment with and commitment to the vision, mission, and core beliefs of CrossWay Church.
  • Willingness to become a member of CrossWay Church and regularly attend worship services and church activities.
  • Self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to adapt work hours around ministry events.
  • Some level of training and/or volunteer experience in youth ministry.
  • Residency in Battle Ground, WA or the surrounding area is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a national criminal background check.
