Part-Time Youth Group Leader at First CRC (Grand Rapids, MI)

First CRC is excited to find the next Youth Group Leader who will direct an active and vibrant high school youth group, supporting and encouraging students as they deepen their relationship with Jesus and each other.  See below for the essential functions and email [email protected] with questions or to express interest. 15hrs/week.

Essential Functions:

• Build relationships with students to support and mentor them in their faith and life.
• Plan and facilitate Sunday night youth group meetings which combine intentional faith lessons, conversations, food, and fun.
• Plan and facilitate a fall retreat, winter retreat & summer immersion trip.
• Supplement Sunday meetings with faith deepening activities such as Bible study, community engagement and service opportunities.
• Organize special events such as the senior dinner and spring breakfast.
• Collaborate with a strong team of volunteers to offer high quality programming.
• Communicate clearly with students, parents, and the congregation.
• Ensure administrative details are organized and completed to enable effective ministry.

Qualifications:

• Disciple of Jesus Christ who displays an excitement for youth ministry.
• Ability to connect with students and work well with a team of volunteers.
• Clear communicator with strong planning and facilitation skills.

Key Relationships:

• Reports to the Pastor
• Collaborates with the First Church staff and Middle School Youth Group Team
