Job Summary
The Worship Coordinator is responsible for designing and leading worship that is Biblical, hospitable, simple, inspiring, and fosters passionate spirituality. inSpirit’s worship must be led by individuals that are filled with God’s Holy Spirit and lead worship out of their passion for God and the desire to experience God’s gracious and holy presence in worship. The Worship Coordinator leads and sets the tone for worship teams and the church family.
Qualifications
- Exemplify a strong faith, a teachable spirit, and confident presence to lead others.
- Experience in planning engaging worship that connects with the hearts and minds of worshipers and moves them to obey God out of love and thanksgiving.
- Experience in equipping musician and vocalist teams for worship so teams are enabled to lead the church family in worship.
- Capable of carrying responsibility for the design, production, and communication required to have excellent Sunday worship experiences.
- Experience using or willing to learn ProPresenter 7, Multitracks, and OBS Streaming Service is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Reports to the Senior Pastor and also works with the lead pastor charged with the leadership over a service on a given Sunday.
- Accountable to the ministry team in a general way to carry out Organizational Expectations and Essential Functions detailed here, in performance goals, and any other agreements.
Organizational Expectations
- Strive for excellence in communication, worship design, and public worship services.
- Meet regularly with the pastor(s) to discuss message plans and create thematically coherent, beautiful, and artistically simple worship.
- Communicate weekly (phone or in person) with the Senior Pastor and the worship team for the upcoming Sunday's service, create a multi-month plan for musicians, and lead mid-week rehearsals.
- Work alongside support staff and ministry teams for the coordination and creation of excellent worship services.
Essential Functions
- Lead worship teams and band leaders by scheduling musicians, planning and facilitating rehearsals, and regularly participating in Sunday worship services.
- Use Planning Center Online for the efficient communication and coordination of worship services.
- Plan spoken, sung, and instrumental transitions before, between, and concluding songs in order to create beautiful, flowing, and thematically coherent services.
- Develop and apply a broad knowledge of worship arts that are Biblical, reflecting our reformed tradition as well as the global Christian church.
- Design worship that is emotionally engaging and theologically fitting to our ministry context and vision as a church plant.
