Upcoming Worship Ministries Roundtable Conversations

All are welcome to participate in the weekly Worship Ministries roundtables, which take place via Zoom. We meet on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm Eastern and cover a variety of topics. If there's a topic you'd like to discuss, please email Katie Roelofs at [email protected].

We want these meetings to not only do the good work of collaboration and relationship-building, but also to best serve our churches and our leaders.

Below is a schedule for the next few months (including Zoom links):

  • January 13: Children IN Worship. This is the upcoming theme issue for the "Reformed Worship" journal and we want to hear from you! What stories do you have to share? What can you tell us about your particular context and what has gone well, what has not? Come WITH ideas, come FOR ideas.
  • January 20: God is no stoic... the work of Lament. Pastor Micah Shuurman joins us to talk about why lament in worship is necessary and Biblical. In the midst of another Covid surge, after several years of loss and grief, how can we lament well personally but also lead our congregations to do so well corporately?
  • January 27 and February 3: Lent Planning. We'll have two consecutive weeks of conversation about Lent planning. What are you doing this year and how can we do some good brainstorming and sharing together?
  • February 10 and beyond: Don't forget to register for the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship's annual Worship Symposium! We will be hosting a series of follow up conversations with several presenters and panelists. The full list of these conversations can be found here (check back as we will update this list regularly).
