Here are few fun ideas for praying with middle or upper elementary kids.

Prayer Chain--Have kids write requests on strips of colored construction paper, then tape them together in a chain. Pray the requests as each person adds a new chain. All you need is construction paper cut into strips, pencils or crayons, and a glue stick, tape, or a kid-sized stapler. You could even color code the requests-- yellow for praise, orange for thanksgiving, green for our family... etc. and continue building the chain week after week.

Bucket O' Prayers--Here's another idea that you could use for the rest of the year. Place a jar, bucket, or bowl somewhere in your meeting area. Encourage kids to write prayer requests on little slips of paper and fold them to put in the bucket. At the end of your time together ask everyone (who is willing) to select a piece of paper to pray for as you close.
