Family Fire. Stoking the Spirit’s flame at home.

It’s with the people closest to us that we experience our greatest joys and deepest sorrows in this life. It is they whom we can hurt the most, and it is by them that we can be the most severely scarred. How do I forgive? That’s a question that can be more difficult to answer in our close relationships than in any other relational circumstance. The situations that can require radical forgiveness in close relationships are actually too painful to speculate about. Yet, we do not have to forgive in our power. We forgive as He forgives us; in the power of the Holy Spirit. In these first weeks of Lent, Family Fire from ReFrame Media, has delved into themes about forgiveness, bringing a distinctly reformed perspective.

How Do I Forgive? Write a Letter of Lament and Forgiveness. By Steven Koster. We all want to be the bigger person, the kind who forgives others as God has forgiven us. But it's not always that easy. Sometimes we bear not only scars, but bleeding wounds of fear, anger, and resentment towards those who have mistreated us. We want to forgive, but how? Here's one idea: write a letter of lament and forgiveness to the person who hurt you.
