When our kids were little, being involved in VBS was a family affair with both myself and my husband loading up the van full of our kids and their friends and heading off to church to lead and to learn together. It was an intergenerational experience for our immediate family, but also for our church family as people of all ages got involved by promising to pray, providing snacks, purchasing supplies, cleaning up messes and more. It's one of the things I Iove about VBS.

I also love the two resources I'm about to share.

The first is A Prayer for Vacation Bible School, posted in The Advocate, an online journal published by the Association for Presbyterian Church Educators. It's a wonderful prayer to use with VBS leaders or during a church service prior to the launch of your VBS program.

And, if you have young people who are eager to help out at VBS (yay!), set them up for success by sharing with them the tips found in this resource: Training Teens for VBS: 16 Things They Need to Hear
