Over the last 30+ years, ThereforeGo Ministries has made available a ministry assessment tool to the local church called “Compass 21”. It is a tool designed to help churches look at their past, current, and future contexts when it comes to modeling and exhibiting healthy youth ministry practices.

But what are these practices?

The Gospel has been clear that we are called to intergenerational ministry when it comes to the faith formation of our students. Some ways we can do that are by connecting and living into Seven Healthy Youth Ministry Benchmarks: Relational, Evangelical, Transformational, Intentional, Exemplary, Nurturing, and Responsive.

Compass 21 is a facilitator-led process that helps the local church look deeply into itself and consider where the Holy Spirit is leading them in their Youth Ministry journey using the Gospel and the Seven Healthy Youth Ministry Benchmarks as a means to set goals and incorporate them in timely and strategic ways. The facilitator will also coach the congregation as it learns to live in its call. It is hard but necessary work as each local church team learns to pastor its unique youth ministry context.

It is especially important today as many churches are still trying to discern a post-pandemic reality.

There is help.
