When was the last time your congregation asked questions like these:
What does maturing in faith look like?
How are we encouraging and equipping people to mature in their faith?
What groups and/or areas of growth might we be missing?
The last year has been filled with change in every area of our lives, including the church. That’s why now is an excellent time to consider becoming part of Faith Formation Ministries’ upcoming Building Blocks of Faith Cohort.
There are some major (and minor) shifts happening in the world of congregational faith formation. We’re seeing movements toward
intergenerational faith formation
lifelong faith formation
renewed interest in spiritual practices
virtual worship
renewed interest in faith formation in the home
lack of volunteers
fear of change
Times of great change can be challenging to navigate, but they’re often good times to think about what's working, what's not, and why. Most congregations are navigating these changes on their own, but your church doesn't have to.
Faith Formation Ministries has some helpful tools to assist congregations in the important task of helping people of all ages grow in their faith and discipleship. One of the best is the Building Blocks of Faith: four foundational spiritual needs that must be met in order for people of all ages to grow in faith. Using these Building Blocks as a framework, churches are able to take a fresh look at how faith grows and how their congregation can help.
Starting in January 2022, Faith Formation Ministries is offering a cohort experience focusing on the Building Blocks of Faith. Together, FFM coaches Laura Keeley and Trudy Ash will work with teams from a number of congregations, helping them use the Building Blocks of Faith to take a deeper look at how they can support faith formation in their own congregations.
Here are some of the details:
