How I Started a Card Ministry (and You Can, Too!)

I wanted to offer of a possible resource for reaching out to those in your church and beyond. 

During the pandemic, I started to send cards to those in my church. I began by choosing those who lived alone, as I do, to those with Covid-19, to those who lost family with no hope of a funeral, to those who drifted away, and onto where I am today. It has now graduated to the Card Ministry for Hope CRC in Port Perry, Ontario. 

I have always tried to include the following:

• a poem, usually by Helen Steiner Rice, my favourite poet, whose belief in our Lord was so strong that reading her work always give me strength 
• a firm belief in God's Word (always conveying the love of Jesus) 
• a personal message

Each card is signed from your friends at Hope. 

I now receive suggestions from others with names of those who might need a card. 

I am sending this recommendation is sent to you from my own experience but with hope that it may work for others as well.
