Life is a gift from God’s hand, who created all things.
Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is quickly approaching! Observed annually on the third Sunday of January, this day is dedicated to honoring the sanctity of life in all its stages. As CRC churches gather on January 18th to commemorate this special occasion, we encourage you to explore the following ideas, tips, and resources to help you plan meaningful activities.
Every human life is a sacred gift from God—created in His image, known before birth, and cherished to life’s final breath. This year, we are anchoring our Sanctity of Human Life commemoration in this truth: that our calling as Christ’s people is to uphold the sanctity of all life, from the womb to the tomb. We invite you to explore this Christian ethic of the sanctity of all of life as it relates to the unborn, people with disabilities and end of life issues.
- Order Bulletin Inserts: Many churches have already ordered bulletin inserts, but if you still need them, we’ve attached them below for your convenience. There's still time to order additional inserts for your church—simply visit the Faith Alive website, but be sure to act quickly!
- Use Special Prayer in Worship Service: As you observe this meaningful day, we invite you and your congregation to incorporate this Special Sanctity of Human Life Sunday Prayer into your corporate worship service, uniting in honoring and upholding the sacredness of life in all its stages.
- Explore ‘Little Spark of Life’ Children’s Resource: It's never too early to impart little ones with respect and love for the Creator, and every single life in his care! Little Spark of Life demonstrates the great love that families can share together as they embark on the journey to welcome a new baby, and will provide a wonderful platform for conversation about just how much every child is needed, loved, and uniquely valued. Learn more and find free resources here.
- Get Involved in Your Community: One meaningful way to understand the realities of abortion in our communities is by actively supporting women who are pregnant and seeking alternatives to abortion. To help you get involved, we’ve created a map of local pregnancy resource centers across the U.S. and Canada. These centers provide vital services such as pregnancy tests, counseling, and support for mothers who choose to carry their babies to term. They are always in need of volunteers and financial contributions to continue their life-affirming work.
If you know of a pregnancy support center in your area that’s not yet listed on our map, we’d love to hear from you! Please email us at [email protected] with the details, and we’ll gladly include it.
