FOOD and FAITH VIRTUAL Discussions: For 6 weeks on Thursday evenings: February 8-March 14, 7:30 PM Eastern (6:30 Central, 5:30 Mountain, 4:30 Pacific) learn from leaders in the food systems field as they teach us how their faith has informed their work and worldview. It will include congregations in the US who are responding in creative and caring ways because of their faith.

  • 2/8/24 Food and Our Faith: Derrick Weston, Theological and Education Training Coordinator for Creation Justice Ministries, author of The Just Kitchen and host of the Food and Faith Podcast

  • 2/15/24 Food, Faith, and Creating Just Food Systems: Justine Post, Program Director of Come to the Table, RAFI USA 

  • 2/22/24 Food, Faith, and Farming: Ron Vos, Agriculture and Environmental Studies Professor Dordt University and Au Sable Institute, Farmer, and contributing author to numerous books and articles including Just Agriculture, AND Kohima Daring, World Renew Country Director, Bangladesh 

  • 2/29/24 Food, Faith, and Growing: Brian Sellers Peterson, The Faithful Agrarian and author of Harvesting Abundance: Local Initiatives for Food and Faith AND Jeanine Broek, Co-Director of The Table Church, Farm and Café 

  • 3/7/24 Food, Faith, and Community: Lance Kraii, Operations Manager of New City Neighbors (farm, café, development org), AND Sandy Whitaker, Market Manager, New Era CRC Farmers Market 

  • 3/14/24 Food, Faith, and Advocating: Zach Schmidt, Bread for the World Deputy Director of Organizing and Faith Engagement AND Terry Woodnorth, Citizen Advocate and Master Gardener
