While many congregations desire to be as accommodating as possible, they fear that allowing animals in the congregation will be disruptive in worship or make other congregants nervous. This helpful article from the Anabaptist Disabilities Network describes Emotional Support Animals (ESAs), distinguishes them from Service Animals, and gives six guidelines for churches to consider regarding accommodation of ESAs.

 Thank you for sending this material to me.  Although I already knew about ESAs through a program on Animal Planet titled Collar of Duty, I am glad to know that some churches have already produced materials of their own to share with the rest of us.
