Questions for Candidates — A Resource for Civic Action

Although it might seem difficult to have an impact on a campaign, every one of us can play a role in shaping the dialogue. These candidate questions are a resource for people who want to question candidates for federal, state, and local office about their positions on issues that affect people with disabilities, their families, and their communities. This wording is only a suggestion and these questions are not proprietary — feel free to change them to suit your personal voice and share them widely.
This resource was created by the Interfaith Disability Advocacy Coaltion (IDAC), of which both Christian Reformed and Reformed Church in America Disability Concerns ministries are members. IDAC seeks to mobilize the religious community in the United States to speak out and take action on disability policy issues with Congress, the President and Administration, and society at large. IDAC is a diverse nonpartisan coalition of religious and religiously-affiliated organizations from the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, and Sikh traditions whose core spiritual values affirm the rights and dignity of people with disabilities.
