I want to thank all of those who joined in on the Virtual Town Hall Meetings this past June. Much of the conversation centered on Synod 2022 as we discussed the impact of the Human Sexuality Report. For additional information, the General Secretary has posted Frequently Asked Questions about Synod 2022 and the Human Sexuality Report. We’ll be holding another Virtual Town Hall event in September.
I also want to let you know that Carol Vander Ark has accepted a full-time position with the CRC Pension Office. This is a wonderful opportunity for her as she continues to serve the denomination in this capacity. She loved her interactions with chaplains and we hope to have her involved in our training in September.
With our Annual Chaplains Training just around the corner (Sept. 22-24), we ask for your prayers as we continue the coordination and planning for this event. Please pray for our main speaker, Dr. Danjuma Gibson, and our fellow chaplains who have agreed to present during our time of Tools For Care. If you haven't yet, please sign up now for this special chaplain's event in Grand Rapids, Mich. And please pray for safety as we will all be traveling and gathering in person.
Grace and Peace,
Tim Rietkerk
