This morning we made a small change that we hope gives the site a more 'community' feel. Now as you visit each section, you'll see photos of the five people who most recently posted to that section.
The Network is all about participation. Without your posts, comments, and conversation, the site would be an empty shell. Its value lies in this community of users who share, discuss, and support each other as we do ministry in our churches.
So we hope this small change helps showcase that community and that participation.
Previously, we used this spot to feature people who have become a 'member' of the section (becoming a member means you get email notifications of new content). But some sections didn't have many members, or at least members with photos. So those sections would be empty or show the placeholder image. Boring, and not very personal. So now we're showing the five most recent participants who have a photo.
Speaking of photos, please make sure your profile has one. There's nothing like putting a face with a name, and it helps us get to know each. And, in an online world that can at times be distant and impersonal, it helps remind us that we're all image-bearers of Christ, and co-workers on a grand, Kingdom mission.
We hope you enjoy this change. Want to try it out? Just add a comment here, and see your photo appear on the main page of this section. And then, of course, watch it disappear when five others do the same thing. At which time you could comment again to regain your rightful place. Hmmm...this could get interesting :-) Comment away!
We love your comments! Thank you for helping us uphold the Community Guidelines to make this an encouraging and respectful community for everyone.
