Member of West End CRC in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Have been elder, My wife Jennie has served as a pastoral elder. Serve as executive elder starting in September, 2014, and music and liturgy committee.
Have served as CRWRC Director for the Philippines 1970 - 1974. Worked in Agriculture most of my life, retired from this in 2002. Current work is part time at home as tax preparer, and for H&R Block during tax season. Was congregational CRWM rep for 15 years for our church.
Married, with 3 children, two of whom are married, and have 7 grandchildren. Children are living in Toronto, Ontario (daughter with 2 children plus 2 from spouse's previous marriage), Edmonton, Alberta (son with 3 children), and Edmonton, Alberta (single), respectively.
My wife and I volunteer and educate for the Canadian diabetes Association. We volunteer for various church duties as occasions arise. We are both active in our church choir. I also volunteer for CVITP (Canadian Volunteer Income Tax Program), to prepare free tax returns for low income earners.

We have watched this as well. my wife and I are quite familiar with the Bible stories. The series does make them interesting. Certainly, a lot of details in the Bible are not included, and sometimes the series skips over a lot of Bible history. So while it may be interesting, I do not think that someone unfamiliar with the Bible should study it without also looking at the Bible itself for reference, and rely on this for his/her Bible learning alone. Worth watching.

A good subject for discussion. I think regular giving is necessary, and likely helps stimulate more generous support than just when someone is moved to do so. But it should not replace regular offerings for thankfulness, special needs, etc.
As an aside, please don't use acronyms like PAR, without their meaning in brackets at first use. I had never heard of this acronym or the full term before, and it irritated me as I read this useful article.

I use a free program called Picasa. This allows you to download and share photos very easily when you install their software. It is available at Google.com, photos. When you upload photos they are lower resolution, but you can click on them and get higher resolution. We use this a lot for sharing family pics. Yahoo has a similar program called Flickr.
