Prayers and Liturgies

Prayers and Liturgies for worship can be found in these excellent resources.

The Worship Sourcebook

Available in print or e-book versions. This valuable resource for worship planners and pastors includes texts, prayers, and litanies that can be read aloud as well as outlines that can be adapted for your situation. Teaching notes offer guidance for planning each element of the service. Thought-provoking perspectives on the meaning and purpose of worship are great for discussion and reflection. The companion CD contains the entire text of the book for easy cutting and pasting into bulletins, PowerPoint slides, orders of worship, and more.

Reformed Worship

The Reformed Worship print journal and website is a valuable resource supporting traditional, contemporary, and blended types of worship services. Search for prayers and liturgies or by desired topic.

Prayers of the People

This resource is available in print or e-book versions. It contains model prayers, prayer outlines, and other helps for incorporating prayer into worship. The contents of this book are excerpted from the second edition of The Worship Sourcebook and originate from a wide range of sources.

Prayers and litanies can be found for most of the songs included in Lift Up Your Hearts. Simply go to, click on the Songs tab, and search for a song, and then when that songs page appears, click on the “Worship Elements” tab on the left hand side of the screen to find suggestions for prayers, litanies, calls to worship, blessings, etc.
