Recording: Virtual Church Technology Q&A

On December 3, Worship Ministries invited several people with tech experience to host a roundtable discussion for churches who might have specific questions pertaining to technology and virtual church.

We recognize that churches around our denomination are in flux during this Advent season, and many are now embarking on a virtual only format for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Warm summer weather and lower numbers allowed for in-person gathering and outdoor services, but as the weather grew cold and virus numbers went up, many of our churches are facing live stream/pre-recording for the first time, or for the first time in many months.

This hour long discussion covered a variety of topics, including:

  • Live stream best practices, specific technology that has worked well for both audio and visual, platforms to use for streaming ease and internet connectivity concerns
  • How do we maintain a spirit of unity and the communal nature of worship when we are distanced and in a virtual only format?
  • Audio concerns and live stream

As churches continue to be flexible in the coming months, CRC Worship ministries is here to support however we can. Any specific tech questions can be emailed to [email protected] and we will try to connect you with someone who is able to help.

We recognize how difficult this year has already been and continues to be. We are grateful for resilient leaders, strong congregations, and for the work of the Holy Spirit that continues to unite our worshipping communities this Advent season.
