Ever wondered what the Bible says to us about Children and Youth Ministries?
Looking for strategies to help your church breathe new life into its members of all ages?
Searching for strategies that create a more robust engagement with your congregation’s youth and young adults?
Make sure you don’t miss out on these workshops being offered by the Faith Formation Ministries (FFM) team at Inspire 2019:
A Practical Theology of Children's and Youth Ministry
Friday August 2, 10-11 am
with Mimi Larson, FFM's Children's Ministry Catalyzer and Ron DeVries, FFM's Youth Ministry Catalyzer
Everything we do as congregations flows from theological foundations. When these foundations are not built well, the “houses” built on it cannot stand. This workshop will describe how to build a strong foundation for life through your children’s and youth ministry.
Growing Young: Strategies to Help Young People Discover and Love Your Church
Friday August 2, 2-3 pm
and Friday August 2, 3:30-4:30 pm
with Ron DeVries, FFM's Youth Ministry Catalyzer
The Fuller Youth Institute’s 2016 book "Growing Young" profiles innovative churches that are engaging 15- to 29-year-olds in ways that help the whole church grow--spiritually, emotionally, missionally, and numerically. This workshop introduces six strategies to help your church breathe new life into its members of all ages.
Truly Inviting Teens and Young Adults to Lead
Friday August 2, 2-3 pm
and Friday August 2, 3:30-4:30 pm
with Lesli van Milligen, FFM’s Regional Catalyzer for Eastern Canada, from Winnipeg to Halifax
At a very young age, children begin to exhibit leadership traits. Providing meaningful opportunities for teens and young adults to lead is one of the strongest encouragements for their faith life. This workshop will provide numerous suggestions for creating sturdy leadership opportunities and growing a leadership development culture in your congregation.
The Power of Mentoring: Reflecting on the "Renegotiating Faith" Report
Friday August 2, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
with Lesli van Milligen, FFM’s Regional Catalyzer for Eastern Canada, from Winnipeg to Halifax and Rick Zomer, executive director of Youth Unlimited
A recently released research report from the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, called “Renegotiating Faith,” powerfully documents the transition from high school to life beyond, and gives strong suggestions for supporting this transition. This workshop will discern the most important pieces of this study for the CRCNA, and propose ways for us to implement its recommendations.
