About

Who We Are

Immanuel Christian Reformed Church (ICRC) is an active, intergenerational congregation of approximately 310 members located on Hamilton's West Mountain in Ontario. Established in 1959 as part of Classis Hamilton, our church is deeply rooted in Scripture and the Reformed confessions while remaining vibrantly engaged with our neighbourhood and the broader city. We are a financially healthy, generous community that actively supports local outreach, denominational ministries, and global missions.

Mission, Vision, and Values

  • Mission: To grow in loving God by walking in the Spirit, serving each other, and reaching out to our neighbours.
  • Vision: Empowered by the Spirit, we seek a community where all members grow in faith, honour God in worship and daily life, build each other up in love, and serve those around us for the sake of God's Kingdom.
  • Core Values: We are guided by core commitments to prayer, gift-based ministry, youth participation, intentional fellowship, small-group belonging, Christ-centered outreach, and vision-centered leadership.

Worship and Ministries

  • Worship Life: We gather every Sunday at 10:00 AM for celebrative, intergenerational worship that blends traditional hymns and contemporary songs with strong congregational singing and biblically rooted preaching.
  • Faith Formation: We invest heavily in discipleship across every life stage, including Nursery, Rocks and Roots (ages 3 to Grade 2), Marvel (Grades 3 to 5), Dive In (Grades 6 to 8), and an active Youth Group (Grades 8 to 12).
  • Adult and Intergenerational Life: Spiritual growth continues through Faith Families (small groups), Refresh Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, North of 60, and our Friendship Group for individuals with special needs.

Our Community and Partnerships

Located in the Rolston neighbourhood of Hamilton (a diverse city of 535,000 residents), Immanuel sits directly adjacent to Calvin Christian School and close to Redeemer University, McMaster University, Mohawk College, and Hamilton District Christian High. Our local outreach includes an onsite Community Fridge and Pantry, the Athens Street Community Garden, and annual Summer Adventure Camps. We also share our building with the Hamilton Korean Presbyterian Church, partner with churches in León, Nicaragua, and actively collaborate with the inner-city TrueCity Network.
