Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic full-time pastor to lead our congregation into the next chapter of our journey. The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to Christ, exemplary leadership skills, and a heart for serving people of all ages and backgrounds. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shepherd multi-generations and welcoming community rooted in tradition and poised for growth.
As our Pastor, you will serve as the spiritual leader of a congregation, providing guidance, support, and pastoral care to its members. You will be responsible for preaching sermons, leading worship services, administering sacraments (such as baptism and communion), and nurturing the spiritual growth and development of the church community.

Responsibilities:
1. Preaching and Teaching: Prepare and deliver biblically-based sermons that inspire, challenge, and encourage the congregation to grow in their faith and relationship with God.
2. Worship Leadership: Lead worship services, guiding the congregation in prayer, praise, and participation in worship experiences that glorify God and edify the body of believers.
3. Pastoral Care: Provide compassionate pastoral care and counseling to individuals and families within the congregation, offering support, guidance, and spiritual direction in times of joy, sorrow, and need.
4. Sacramental Ministry: Administer sacraments such as baptism and communion in accordance with the church's beliefs and practices, facilitating opportunities for spiritual renewal and transformation through these sacred acts.
5. Community Engagement: Engage with the local community, building relationships, serving others, and sharing the love of Christ through acts of compassion, outreach initiatives, and partnerships with other churches and organizations.
6. Leadership and Administration: Provide leadership and oversight for the church's ministries, programs, and activities, working collaboratively with church staff and volunteers to fulfill the mission and vision of the congregation.
7. Discipleship and Education: Equip and empower believers for ministry through discipleship initiatives, including teaching of the Heidelberg Catechism to the high school youth, available as a participant in Vacation Bible School.
Qualifications:
1. Ordination: Possession of valid ordination or licensure for pastoral ministry within a recognized denomination.
2. Character and Integrity: Exemplify qualities of godly character, including integrity, humility, compassion, and servant leadership, as outlined in the biblical qualifications for church leaders.
3. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate biblical truths clearly and effectively.
4. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, foster relationships, and provide pastoral care to all generations of the congregation.
5. Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers, fostering teamwork, unity, and a shared sense of mission and purpose within the congregation. In addition serve as a representative for the church with the Parkersburg ministerial association.
