Full-Time Minister of the Word at Bethel CRC (Shiprock, NM)

Bethel Christian Reformed Church is located in the Four Corners region of the United States. Our community of Shiprock, New Mexico is within the northern part of the Navajo Nation.

As an established church that has been in existence (first as a Presbyterian Church) for 100 years, our building sits in the heart of our community. This inspires our mission statement “Sharing the Cross at the Crossroads”.

The vision of Bethel Christian Reformed Church is: to see God changing the life of men, women, and children; to see Jesus Christ give them peace with God and each other; to see the Holy Spirit preparing them in moving God’s kingdom forward according to the Great Commission. The ‘catchphrase’ to easily remember the vision is: “God pardoning us, Christ’s peace in us, the Spirit preparing us”.

The vision is carried out through the mission statement. “God has placed us at the crossroads of Shiprock to share Jesus Christ”.

Our worship services incorporate a blend of English and Navajo songs. Those that lead in worship may also use a mixture of both languages. We currently have active GEMS and Cadets ministries to reach the youth in our community. The church also supports a variety of events for the wider community. Our congregation consists of young and old that strengthen relationships through fellowship. 

We are seeking a Minister of the Word to shepherd our church family with compassion, strong leadership, and a desire to do God’s will.
